i love the stars
those lonely lights
who shine upon us
from lofty heights
they give me solace
when i find death
they give me hope
when i find despair
they give me companionship
to stop my loneliness
and they give me heart
against the dark

they help me answer
my heart's questions
they help me feel
what's locked inside
the truth i hold
inside my heart
can only be freed
by the stars

and every night
i get away
from the lights of the house
from the sounds of the tv
and stand outside
